Short Bio: Babatunde Wumi Odetoyin is an Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, where his research focuses on the molecular epidemiology and public health implications of antimicrobial resistance. With a PhD in Medical Microbiology and an academic background enriched by an American Society for Microbiology fellowship, he investigates the emergence and transmission of multidrug-resistant pathogens, such as E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, across clinical environments, community water sources, and environmental vectors. His work, which includes over 40 scientific publications, aims to provide robust genomic data to guide interventions that preserve the effectiveness of available antibiotics in West Africa's high-burden regions.
