Short Bio: Anthony Oladehinde Onipede is a distinguished Professor of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology at Obafemi Awolowo University and a Consultant at the affiliated Teaching Hospitals Complex in Ile-Ife, Nigeria. A Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, his research focuses on the molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases, with a specialized emphasis on antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis, and enteric pathogens. Beyond his clinical and scientific expertise, he holds a Master of Business Administration, which bolsters his capacity for healthcare leadership and management. Professor Onipede has provided significant academic oversight as a former Head of Department and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed studies in collaboration with international institutions to track the genetic evolution of multidrug- resistant bacteria across Sub-Saharan Africa.
